Worshiping God
These religious teachers thought spiritual things only happened on spiritual days, and that it was more important to follow their ideas of holiness than to have lunch and talk with Jesus. To the Pharisees, pulling wheat out of a field was forbidden on the day of worship. Their idea of church was to wear the right things and worship only their way. On the contrary, the disciples realized that talking, walking, and eating with Jesus were acts of worship.
To our detriment, we have focused on churchy actions and communicated that these are what please God. “Give some money, lift your hands, and repeat after me.” We miss out on the fact that God is also pleased when we dedicate the simplicity of life to Jesus. We need to allow Jesus to saturate the non-churchy areas of our lives. Can you see Jesus in a poem you’ve written, or in your laughter with a friend? Can you see Him in a walk through the woods? How about seeing Jesus at a family picnic?
“Whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31). God is present in all of these things! Are we ready to see Him? When we model a life of worship that exists outside our walls, outside our ministries, and outside our organized expressions, then we will have true fellowship with Him.

In HIS Will
LORD, I hope I'm empty
when I'm called to be with YOU.
I pray I've done most that I should
when my days are through.
I wonder if I'm in YOUR will
with "how" I'm living life.
I sometimes doubt I'm even "close"
when I experience strife.
It seems like I must hurry
to complete my own life's task.
But I'm not sure just what it is
because I've failed to ask.
I often fail to "get it"
the "first" time YOUR wills shown.
I usually see what YOU were doing
when my problems grown.
Then I remember what YOU said...
YOU will never leave me.
YOU never promised a care free life;
one that may not grieve me.
The paths I've chosen sometimes proved
to be the wrong direction.
That's when I felt YOUR guidance...
then your kind correction.
LORD I want to "use" the time
YOU have for me allotted.
I truly want to do YOUR will,
the course for me YOU plotted.
Please teach me how to listen
and be receptive to YOUR will.
Help me pay close attention,
and to keep my own voice still.
I sincerely hope I recognize
future blessings you provide me.
I pray I'm stirred to hear YOUR voice
way down deep inside me.
Only YOU can make
the crooked way become the straight.
I pray LORD that there still is time
and that it's not too late.
One day YOU will call us home
and we'll all see YOUR face.
The worldly things that filled our lives

If you know God in an intimate way,
He can provide for you a place of comfort and safety
where you can be yourself and know
that you are loved as you are.
He doesn't harm you, nor does He
demand anything from you
in order for you to receive His love.
He is the only place where you
can feel totally safe and wanted.
Where you know that you count and are special –

- Thank you for the warm welcome here! I am so glad to have been invited into this community to share and bolster each other in the work of our Lord. My timing is terrible, however, as I am going off-line, off radio, off media of all types, from Friday afternoon until Easter Sunday as my small way to honor and respect the Lord's death on the cross. I will catch up with my e-life early in next week and then shall look forward to growing in faith through the work of this on-line community!
