In the recent months, we have seen the citizens of the United States organize in order to share their concerns about what is going on in our government. In honor of the Boston Tea Party during the American Revolution war, these meetings are labeled "tea parties". The people are uniting and demanding, on the authority of the constitution, that the polit…

We look around and find that just right pan, the spoon that stirs the way we like it to. The almost empty spice bottle that takes it up a notch. Set the temp down a little there is no hurry and it smells just like the memories we have of the meals from the big peoples table.
It matters not how many there are sitting at the table nor the amount of portions on our plates. Its time to pause and give thanks for the way we have survived the trials and test, of time that these days have served us.

Thanksgiving at a homeless camp
Last year 7 men at a homeless camp gathered there money and purchased 3 jars of gravy and 2 loaves of bread. They had just started to cook when I entered the camp. Will you eat with us they asked. Sure I said. I happen to have a 12 pack of sodas in the van. Plastic plates and forks 3 pieces of bread and some turkey gravy. They asked me to bless the meal. We were almost done eating when 4 men entered camp with sweet rolls via dumpster shopping. A few plates…

Greetings, - We must make every effort to win the lost. Today is the day of salvation!
I was praying for those on this list and thought I might update you on one of my most recent meditations. God’s “lost and found” chapter, Luke 15. I was caught by the message of the illustration of the lost coin. I see so many Christians who have lost their “treasure” in serving Christ. They continue the motions of serving Jesus Christ, but miss the meaning of real joy:
1. They have lost their joy of the clos…

When God created Adam, it was the beginning of his family, and the most important aspect of his and any family was that they love each other.
That has not changed, yet man, over 6400 years later, has still not been able to do it. I don’t know how to emphasize it other than remind you that over 70% of the Bible is either directly or indirectly relating to people loving each other.
The power of love is largely overlooked by people in general. Love is the most powerful force available to us.
Lov…

While in Austin for the Homeless Resource Fair the line trailed back about 200 ft.
The workers filled out the surveys and the clients entered the building to the services.
There wasn't a planed job for me so I went around and greeted folks, there were new faces to meet and some that knew me by name brbruce .
I must share the one that touched my heart the most.
As I moved around the crowd there were many prayers and love hugs. I came upon a man he said he was 68 and yes he knew the Lord. I spoke…

Loving Greetings to you all in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! I praise the Lord for His mercy to share my testimony with you all.
I guess you could say I was blessed to be born into a Christian family. Without the truth of God being taught to me at a young age, I might not be alive today to tell others that there is only ONE way to be reunited spiritually with God the Father . . . " and that is by having a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, through the help of the H…

Dear Pastor Bruce,
Thank you for the note of encouragement! I want to share a testimony with you. When I sowed the money into your ministry, I told my husband that I felt led by God to do it and what if one of our family members became homeless? Little did I know, shortly after that one of our children became homeless and he failed to call us. He panicked and needed help desperately. A ministry in a central Texas town took care of our son and encouraged him to call us. He is home now! I believed…

I would like to share this report about the ministry to the homeless
and indigent that call me brbruce.
Today started out with a call for a prayer for a job and a report that all is well with one of the folks I've known for 5+ years.
I have a list of needs to go to town and get. Fuel / stamps / water / food / stuff for the ministry. Its 4 miles to town and the road is not paved, when I noticed a man walking to town. I stopped and asked him if I could give him a ride? He agreed and we introduced…

Halloween a day celebrated around the world when people dress up in costumes, collect candy from neighbors and have parties, but do you ever take time to think about the origins of Halloween? Most people don't think twice about participating in it saying "It's all in fun" or "It’s not evil to me", but is this so called hallow evening really so innocent? Are there ties to paganism and Satanism? Shall we as Christians celebrate Halloween or should we have an alternative name for it like Harvest Fe…

A man with much anger rode his bike to the park . He got up on a bench and began to rant he spoke about how unfair those who have are to those who lack. How folks should take back what they want. He got down from the bench and found that someone had taken his bike.

John the Baptist, what a character! When you get past the camel hair, locusts, and shouting, you find a man who showed us how to be 'heart capable' of receiving the Lord as our Savior. And there's more! Being so means we've got responsibilities. Read about it at

This passage in 1 Corinthians 6 is one of those Biblical passages that will just not let me rest until I feel I have covered it thoroughly; and that may never happen.
I see within these three verses and their context, a word from God that the church in our day desperately needs to hear. I do not plan on ever completely moving on from this verse but see it as always being at the heart of what I believe God has called me to do in the body of Christ, i.e., preach the word, restore Jesus Christ to…
